Exile & Redemption: The Epic Journey of Daymon in Tears of the Sword

Daymon, who was a loyal knight and a brave warrior of King William’s army, is betrayed and banished from the Kingdom. The word had been spread that he was marked for death if ever caught in the Kingdom. Since, he was still extremely loyal and devoted to his King and the people of the Kingdom, therefore, he had decided to fight for them and protect the Kingdom from the shadows. And so, he started living in a small isolated cabin near the Kingdom, however, the cabin was placed under a spell so that no one would be able to find it.

Betrayal, War, and Destiny: Key Themes in Tears of the Sword

Daymon, once a trusted warrior, is banished from the Kingdom over false allegations. The people of the Kingdom turn their backs on him without giving him a chance to clear the charges. He is ordered to be killed on sight if he ever stepped inside the Kingdom. Even Grayson, who was Daymon’s closest friend and brother in arms, did not give him a chance to explain himself. Grayson abandoned Daymon and considered him as his enemy. Thus, Daymon went into hiding in an isolated place. However, Lord Draygor is planning to attack the Kingdom of Daymon and Grayson. Draygor had a monstrous and unstoppable army which made Kingdoms tremble in fear. Now that, Lord Draygor is about to start a war against King William and his Kingdom, there will be chaos & uproar, battle rage & battler cries, dead bodies & blood rivers. Among all this, will Daymon remain in the hiding or will he come out of the shadows and fight against Draygor’s army?

Knights, Treachery, and Forbidden Love: What Drives Tears of the Sword?

At its core, The Tears of Sword is a story of broken trust & loyalty and betrayal. The kingdom’s knights defend each other’s back until treachery gets in the way. Daymon and Grayson, once war buddies, now stand against each other, proving that the most trustworthy blades can also be pointed at your face, as Daymon is exiled from the Kingdom while Grayson is the law of the Kingdom. Betrayal hurts more than an enemy attack as it comes from a trustworthy friend. Princess Gwendalyn’s heart and love becomes the battlefield as her bond with Daymon sparks a fire in Grayson’s heart. Grayson’s jealousy got the better of him and he turned his sword against Daymon because he thought Daymon was trying to take Princess Gwendalyn away from him. Lord Draygor, a merciless and brutal man, with a giant war deprived army under his command. He comes from the Northern areas of the mountains which cannot be passed by any army as his men’s defense is tougher than an iron wall. He is a fearsome man and his monstrous men make Kingdoms tremble in fear when they go on war with them.
